2/. THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD
"I AM the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life."
The Heavenly World is Life and Light.
This world is death and darkness.
Jesus is the Light from above, that has always been shining in this dark world: "In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men and the Light shines in the darkness." (Jn.1:4,5).
He come down into this world of darkness to give it the Light of the True Life in human form as prophesied in Is.9:2; 60:1-3.
He who follows Him will no longer walk in the spiritual darkness of this world – the deception, impurity and slavery of sin – but will step into the World of Light and Truth to walk in continuous purification from all sin and bondage.
We step into the Spiritual Reality by eating the Bread of Life: the Spirit-filled Words of Jesus, and we walk in "the Light of Life" by abiding in His Word. Then we will know the liberating Truth that will set us free from the deception of "the father of lies" - the deadly deception of the independent life (8:44).
The Light of heaven has become our essential life and we have become "sons of Light" (Jn.12:35-36).
Our spiritual organism has become alive and our spiritual eyes opened so that we can see the True
Light, Jesus Christ, the Eternal Life.
It is impossible to know the Reality of Jesus with our natural senses, we cannot "understand" what He is saying and cannot "hear" His Word (8:43), darkness has blinded our eyes and we don´t know where we are going, cannot perceive our true destiny.
But when we have become "light in the Lord," we can "walk as children of Light" led by his Word that is a lamp to our feet and a Light to our path and we can discern the true Destiny of our Life clearer and clearer: Jesus Christ Himself!
As the Spirit keeps revealing Him to our inner man our spiritual vision will become clearer and clearer and we will ascend higher and higher in the World of Light and Life. The Truth will set us free from every form of deception and bondage and the Murderer, the Father of lies, will have absolutely no influence in our lives.
Jesus is the true Life, the Light of the world!
